Curious but Cautious
78% of Gen Z believe AI has a place in the classroom, but excitement is dropping.

Excitement about AI dropped from 36% to 22% in just one year. While Gen Z isn’t turning away from AI, they’re approaching it with more caution.

Eyes on the Future
More than half of K-12 students expect to need AI skills in college and their careers.
Between 45% and 56% of Gen Z believe AI can help them learn and work faster. They know that understanding how to use AI will matter for what comes next.

 

Schools Are Stepping Up
74% of K-12 students say their school has an AI policy, up from 51% in 2025.
Progress is real, but gaps still remain. 41% of students still believe their peers are using AI when they shouldn’t be, and 19% aren’t sure any policy exists at all.
