New survey quantifies growing use of ChatGPT and AI in education.

In July 2023, the Walton Family Foundation commissioned one of the earliest surveys to understand teacher, student and parent views on ChatGPT. One year later, the new survey shows the growing impact of AI in classrooms.

While most believe chatbots positively impact classrooms, teachers are more skeptical. Sixty-three percent of K-12 students believe AI and chatbots have a positive impact, and 48% of teachers agree. While many teachers use AI chatbots to support them with both administrative and creative duties, many opportunities exist to train educators on how best to utilize AI.

The KIPP Bold Academy educator says AI holds incredible potential as a tool for teachers and students. “AI is the most transformational technology in the history of humankind. The question isn’t ‘Will our kids use it?’ It’s ‘Will we teach them to use it responsibly and effectively.’”

In these short videos, Winston shares his perspective and his passion for teaching students how to leverage tools of the future. His students also share their thoughts on how technologies, like AI, might shape the future.
